Some vendors stated that records of Hong Kong and Taiwan pop stars from the 1980s and 1990s and test pressings of classic music are quite popular.
"Playing old records requires patience because the preparation work is extensive,thus 'forcing' you to slow down your pace of life. You have to listen to them song by song,unlike the convenient selection of tracks on a CD,so you will seriously listen to the music completely. Enthusiasts can first pay attention to hand-etched records and single-sided records from the late Qing Dynasty: "These were the first batch of records introduced to China by foreign record companies. Some of them had famous Peking Opera performers record lyrics in China beforehand,then the names,numbers,and performers' names were manually engraved onto the chips with a carving knife. The history of hand-etched records is very short,only a few years. Because they were handmade,thepressing quantity was very small,and they were mainly sold to princes,nobles,and wealthy merchants,so they are not common in the market today,making them true antiques among records."
A large number of vinyl records published in the 1980s,such as those by Cantonese singers Leslie Cheung,Alan Tam,Anita Mui,Danny Chan,Alex Fong,Sandy Lam,Paula Tsui,and Shirley Kwan,released many classic records. Although the circulation was not small at the time,after several decades,their quality and condition are incomparable to before,and their collection value is very high.
