- After the success of her third album "Anita Mui (Like Water Flowing Years)", Anita Mui continued her momentum by releasing the brand-new album "Bad Girl". This album mainly featured upbeat fast songs, fully expressing her inherent wildness, rebellion, and charm. "Bad Girl" achieved an astonishing sales record of ten platinum discs, solidifying Anita Mui's status as a music queen and announcing a complete transformation of her personal image.
- The concept and design for the cover of the "Bad Girl" album were handled by Alan Chan, who boldly adopted a hollowed-out design. When combined with the lyric pages and the inner sleeve photos, it could transform into three different cover looks. The hollowed-out neutral silhouette of Anita Mui on the cover continued the style of her previous album. Through the hollowed-out silhouette, the bottom layer of the sleeve highlighted Anita Mui's "Bad Girl" image.
- "Walking My Own Path Alone" is an adaptation of Momoe Yamaguchi's "This is My Trial," composed by Japanese composer Shinji Tanimura and with lyrics by Cheng Kwok-kong. Before recording, Anita Mui changed the word "wind" to "song" in the original lyric "My shadow dances with me in the wind when I'm lonely," which immediately elevated the artistic conception and better suited her image as a singer. "Walking My Own Path Alone" can be seen as a true reflection of Anita Mui's life. Having started performing at the age of five, she experienced the ups and downs of life and numerous hardships along the way. Anita Mui infused the bitterness of over a decade of struggling alone in the entertainment industry into the song, delivering a firm and composed performance that exuded strength and broad-mindedness.
- "Bad Girl" is adapted from British singer Sheena Easton's "Strut," with new lyrics by Richard Lam. This song, which uses desire as a metaphor for love, meticulously describes a woman's pursuit of desire, causing a sensation at the time and even evolving into a cultural phenomenon, some even viewing it as having liberal and female liberation connotations. Richard Lam created a series of "erotic" themed works, including "The Last Dance" (Jenny Tseng), "200 Degrees" (Sally Yeh), "I Want" (Deanie Ip), and "The Last Night" (Prudence Liew), the audacity of which shocked moral guardians.
- The urgent and shocking rhythm of "Bad Girl," its bold yet never vulgar lyrics, and the persistent drumbeats all express a wild desire for freedom and liberation. Anita Mui's unrestrained and free-spirited performance sang out the rebellious voice deep within women's hearts.
- The original singer of "Dream Partner" is Japan's Masahiko Kondo. This melancholic love song carries the sadness of falling leaves, and Lowell Lo's lyrics are full of vivid imagery. Anita Mui's performance is free and easy, singing with a rare playfulness.
- At the 1986 Jade Solid Gold Best Ten Music Awards Presentation, "Dream Partner" and "Breaking the Iceberg" were both selected as Top Ten Gold Songs, and Anita Mui won the "Most Popular Female Singer Award" for the second consecutive year.
- Whether it's the avant-garde and rebellious "Bad Girl," or the cool yet tender "Iceberg on Fire"; whether it's the bold and passionate "Crazy for Another Thousand Nights," or the lingering and graceful "Endless Love"; whether it's the steadfast "Two Hearts Unchanged" or the self-reflective "Walking My Own Path Alone," Anita Mui unleashed her domineering, wild, strong, and charming personality in an invisible way. She not only sang for herself but also brought an entire era to life.
- The "Bad Girl" album was Anita Mui's highest-selling album, establishing her status as the "Big Sister" in the Hong Kong music scene.
- From December 31, 1985, to January 14, 1986, Anita Mui held her first solo concert, "Anita Mui in Concert," at the Hong Kong Coliseum, performing 15 shows and breaking the record for the most shows for a Hong Kong singer's debut concert.
