- "The "ABU Asia-Pacific Pop Song Contest" held in 1986 saw the emergence of many excellent works, and a large number of talented singers stood out through this competition, including Anthony Lun,Raidas,Sandy Lam,George Lam,Vivian Chow,Flower Bun Lan,Christopher Wong, and others.
- On June 26,1983,Christopher Wong, then a student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong, participated in the "Children's Song Creation Competition" and won third place with his self-composed song "Warmth". He was also invited to sing the theme song for the ATV drama "Sword Immortal Li Bai",which was included in the compilation album "PolyGram's Third Album of Blockbuster Hits".
- In August 1986,Christopher Wong, who was working as a DJ at a radio station, participated in the "ABU Asia-Pacific Pop Song Contest". He made it to the finals with his song "Reunion",and although he did not make it into the top three, this emotionally powerful and poignant song fully showcased his creative talent.
- In April 1987,Christopher Wong released his first EP "Reunion" after signing with PolyGram. In August of the same year,he released his first solo album "Moody". PolyGram positioned Christopher Wong as a creative singer with an idol image. Producer Chan Kim Wo and Christopher Wong reached a consensus that the album would contain no more than three of his own compositions to ensure a diverse musical style. The hit song "Sad Lover" is a breakup love song composed by Christopher Wong. His deep voice contains a sense of helpless melancholy, and the winding melody carries a hint of sadness. This song topped the Hong Kong Radio Chinese Pop Chart.
- "Wandering Love" is the theme song for the Hong Kong Radio drama of the same name, performed as a duet by Christopher Wong and Yu Kim-ming. Lyricist Heung Suet-wai used rhyming and related words like "love," "parting," "future," and "waiting" to depict a turbulent and rootless love.
- "Temporary Love," with lyrics by Poon Yuen-leung,describes the sense of alienation experienced by modern people in a bustling city. This song vividly portrays the main factors contributing to the estrangement in modern human relationships (rapid updates and iterations of goods, everything being rushed),leaving you feeling powerless. This precisely reflects life in this prosperous small island in the 1980s.
- On February 12,1988,at the 10th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Award Ceremony,Christopher Wong received the "Most Promising New Artist Silver Award".
- His first album "Moody" achieved double platinum sales,a remarkable achievement. From 1987 to 1992,Christopher Wong released seven Cantonese albums and one compilation album with PolyGram. Among them,"Your Most Loved Song" was the one he was most involved in behind-the-scenes production during his time at PolyGram, gradually transforming Christopher Wong from a singer into a music creator.
- In 1992,to have greater creative freedom,Christopher Wong transferred to Fitto and released a new album "Rumors". Eight songs on the album were personally composed by Christopher Wong, with the biggest highlight being the adaptation of "Late Autumn" by mainland musician Xu Jianqiang.
- Christopher Wong's singing voice,at times deep and gentle,at times high and clear, with notes from the depths of his heart, either sings of the dreamlike and illusory love in the human world,or tells of the seemingly real and false feelings of the mortal world. Listening to his songs is like drinking fine, mellow wine. He is like a poet reciting in the wind, using music to express his thoughts and critiques on life. His songs exude a scholarly spirit unique to Hong Kong, and his youthful yet literary singing voice easily evokes memories. Although he never achieved massive fame,he left a profound mark on the Hong Kong music scene."
