👤 Seller Profile and Reason for Parting

Seller Information: Mr. Chan (pseudonym),55 years old,a seasoned audiophile and fan of 1980s Hong Kong pop music.

Reason for Selling: Mr. Chan was passionate about vinyl systems in his younger days, but his listening habits have changed in recent years, shifting entirely to CAS (Computer Audio Source) lossless digital streaming systems. The turntable at home broke down years ago and has been idle ever since, never repaired. Seeing his cherished collection, which he once adored, rarely played for years,Mr. Chan felt that instead of letting these excellent musical vessels remain silent in the dark,it would be better to let them find new appreciative owners through a professional collection platform—people who still use turntables and understand their value—to continue their legacy.

📖 Collection Process Log: Professional Assessment to Prevent Treasures from Being Overlooked

On the day of the meeting,Mr. Chan carefully took out the records from an eco-friendly bag. Our appraiser put on white gloves and began a meticulous inspection.

The first record to catch our eye was Andy Lau's "Love's Forbidden Zone". Released in 1987,this album is one of Andy Lau's representative works from his early musical career. The appraiser carefully removed the vinyl disc and, under the beam of a strong flashlight, confirmed that the playing surface was pitch black and shiny, with only a minimal number of light paper scuffs from handling. The corners of the album cover showed no significant damage, indicating excellent condition.

Next,a record with striking red and black visuals caught our attention—this was Ng Kwok-king's self-titled album. Mr. Chan specifically showed us one of the bonus red transparent EPs. In the 1980s,these special colored vinyl releases were relatively rare. This particular one came with a "Playing with Fire" promotional sticker, and the lyric inner sleeve was perfectly intact, making it an absolute gem for Hong Kong music collectors.

Additionally, there was the classic EP "The Revelation of the Mussel",a collaboration by Albert Au,George Lam,and Lowell Lo. But the most delightful surprise was the EMI compilation album "Keeping Youth." While inspecting the cover, the appraiser keenly noticed that it featured autographs from singers like William So!

"Mr. Chan, this 'Keeping Youth' album has autographs from the singers of that era. This commands an additional premium in the secondhand market, and we will increase our purchase price for you accordingly," our appraiser honestly informed him.

Upon hearing this,Mr. Chan smiled knowingly: "Actually,I had long forgotten about the autographs. Coming to '9Box Music' was definitely the right choice. You are honest and professional, unlike some buyers out there who would try to press the price down as if it were scrap plastic!"

Ultimately, under transparent and fair assessment, both parties concluded the transaction at a very satisfactory price. These melodies from the eighties are now poised to find their next owners on our platform.
