- The annual Miss Hong Kong Pageant is Hong Kong's most prestigious and largest beauty pageant, attracting widespread attention throughout the city. Countless young women, brimming with dreams of beauty, bravely step into the spotlight to compete fiercely under the discerning eyes of the judges. The winner often achieves overnight fame, realizing a Cinderella story. Many contestants later enter the entertainment industry, embarking on colorful lives.
- In 1982, at the age of nineteen, Kwong Mei-wan participated in the "Miss Hong Kong Pageant" and won the first runner-up title, subsequently signing with TVB. In May 1984, Kwong Mei-wan became an overnight sensation by providing a backstage singing performance for Maggie Cheung during the grand song and dance performance on the night of the "Miss Hong Kong Pageant" finale, and subsequently became a signed singer with PolyGram.
- In November 1985, Kwong Mei-wan released her first Cantonese album, "Sit Again," with the title track "Sit Again."
- The original song for "A While" is "Waiting Patiently" sung by Taiwanese singer Pan Yueyun, with lyrics by Pan Weiyuan. The song's atmosphere is deeper and more lingering than the original. The song retains the monologue section, which Kwong Mei-wan reads slowly in a sweet, feminine voice, leaving the listener wanting more. Her voice is full of femininity, with a powerfully magnetic and penetrating ending. Based on the outstanding performance of this album, Kwong Mei-wan won the "Most Promising Newcomer Award (Bronze)" at the 8th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Awards Ceremony.
- In 1986, Cally Kwong released her second Cantonese album, "Cally Kwong," which included dance tracks like "Heartbroken Me," tender songs like "Two Accidents," charming ballads like "Drunk," and classic duets like "Only Love Endures."
- The title track, "Accumulated Emotions," was originally sung by Singaporean singer Jiang Hu, and the song won first place in the 1987 Singapore Top Ten Songs chart. The Cantonese version of "Accumulated Emotions" features lyrics by Xiao Mei, who uses the metaphor of "accumulating" to vividly depict the accumulation of emotional troubles, delicately and poetically expressing a deep love. Kuang Meiyun's deep and resonant voice carries a tender and profound affection born from experience, perfectly conveying the sentiment of unspoken, deep love and a lifelong commitment.
- "The Silent Wind" is adapted from Bai Luoda's work "Even Wild Lilies Have Spring." Kwong Mei-wan's tearful performance is deeply moving, perfectly capturing the poignant loneliness and vulnerability of a woman. Lyricist Siu Mei-ying achieved great success in 1996, winning the 9th Top Ten Chinese Gold Songs Award for "How Much Wind and Rain."
- The song won the "Best Chinese Pop Lyrics Award," breaking the dominance of male lyricists. Xiao Mei's lyrics for Roman Tam, Alan Tam, and Leslie Cheung, "How Much Wind and Rain," "Silent Gratitude," and "Who Can Resonate," were all selected as the Top Ten Songs of 1986, sparking a trend of autobiographical lyrics.
- "Only Love Endures" was sung by Cally Kwong and Jacky Cheung, who was also a newcomer at PolyGram at the time. Their heartfelt performance was romantic and beautiful.
- The original song for "Sad Me" is "Jump in My Car" by Secret Star, sung in 1985. It has been covered by numerous singers, including CCCatch, known as the "Queen of Disco." CCCatch won the title in the 1987 "Hong Kong Open Future Idol Contest" finals.
- He sang this song, much to the delight of Hong Kong music fans.
- Cally Kwong's album *Cally* was a critical and commercial success, achieving double platinum sales. Her 1987 album *Keep Spring* marked a step towards maturity, moving towards a more sensual and alluring style. The same year's release, *Stay With Me*, was even more unstoppable, with the title track topping the RTHK Chinese Song Chart. After releasing *Heartbeat*, Kwong left PolyGram and joined DMI.
