Full item description

When talking about the Hong Kong music scene in the 1980s,Albert Au,known as the "Prince of Folk Music," cannot be ignored. This album,"New Songs Selection As You Wish," is not just a collection of songs; it is a precious historical testament to the transitional period of Hong Kong folk and pop music. Many seasoned audiophiles search far and wide for the vinyl version of this Albert Au classic songs original sound reproduction, precisely for the warm background noise and mellow vocals that digital music cannot replace. For music lovers keen on exploring the collection value of 80s vinyl records, this album perfectly encapsulates golden era memories from radio dramas to TV series.

Why is "New Songs Selection As You Wish" worth collecting and listening to.

The album maintains high demand in the second-hand market not only due to the artist's charisma but also its historical significance and audio performance:

Collection Evaluation Criteria	In-depth Music Analysis	Key Collection Highlights
Era and Cultural Imprint	Includes highly representative Hong Kong RTHK radio drama theme songs like "The Wanderer," reflecting the peak of popular entertainment culture at the time.	As a rare vinyl version of "The Wanderer" theme song,it perfectly restores the original emotional impact of the radio drama.
Top-tier Production Quality	Brings together legendary Hong Kong musicians and lyricists such as Joseph Yam,Siu-lai Heung,Cheng Kwok-kong,and Lo Kwok-tsim,with rich and profound arrangements.	Showcases the profound skill of Hong Kong's early pop music golden creative lineup.
Ultimate Sound Quality Presentation	The warm, analog audio characteristics unique to vinyl greatly amplify Albert Au's magnetic and refreshing folk vocals.	Definitely a must-have Hong Kong pop vinyl for audiophiles, with three-dimensional vocal imaging and clear overtones from acoustic guitar strumming.
Market Scarcity	Over time, early original pressings in good condition without significant surface noise are rapidly decreasing in market circulation.	The state of supply and demand has driven a steady increase in used Vinyl Record Buyback prices.

Auditory Elevation: Vinyl Record vs. Digital/CD Versions

Many new music enthusiasts wonder, with the current prevalence of streaming platforms, why bother seeking out old physical vinyl records of Hong Kong folk singer Albert Au.

Listening Experience Comparison	"New Songs Selection As You Wish" Vinyl Record Version	Digital Streaming / General CD Version
Sound Warmth and Texture	Warm, full, with a unique "airy" feel, excellent bass elasticity, and natural,fatigue-free listening.	Cleaner, sharper sound with clear dynamics, but sometimes lacks the sonic extension and emotional rendering of analog audio.
Audio Dynamic Range	Retains the most original dynamics of the studio master tape, especially the extremely rich micro-resonance details of real instruments in folk songs.	After compression encoding, some extreme micro-details in high and low frequencies may be lost during conversion.
Musical Ritual	From taking out the large sleeve, appreciating the cover art, cleaning the grooves,to precisely dropping the needle,it is a fully immersive music appreciation process.	Click-and-play is fast and convenient, but often leads to a quick,background-music-like listening experience.

Professional Appraisal and Collection Advice: How to Evaluate Your Old Records.

As a professional audio-visual appraisal and buyback platform,we understand that every record has a story behind it,and we recommend mastering basic vinyl record maintenance and cleaning techniques and condition evaluation standards:

Vinyl Condition: This is central to determining sound quality and value. Check under strong light for deep scratches (which cause serious skipping) or dense hairline scratches (which create continuous crackling). Regularly using a professional carbon fiber anti-static brush to remove groove dust can significantly extend the record's life.
Cover Condition: Paper sleeves from the 80s are highly susceptible to moisture, mold,"ring wear," or damaged edges if not properly stored. It is highly recommended to store them in a cool, dry place and replace with new anti-static inner sleeves and thick transparent outer sleeves to protect the cover, which will significantly enhance their resale value in the secondary market.
Completeness of Original Accessories: If the lyric sheets, promotional posters,or side labels (if any) that came with the record can be preserved intact,it will have a decisive impact on elevating the overall collection grade and valuation.
