Full item description
Released in 1976,"Teresa Carpio and Lam" is a highly treasured compilation from the early Hong Kong pop music scene. Issued by EMI,this album documents the legendary collaboration between a debutant George Lam and the already famous Teresa Carpio. Unlike later Cantonese pop, this is an all-English cover album, featuring the most classic European,American pop and soul music from the 70s.
For vinyl collectors and Hi-Fi enthusiasts, this early out-of-print vinyl by George Lam showcases the pure vocals of two top singers from the era of all-analog recording. The recording technology, free from modern digital enhancements, perfectly preserves George Lam's unique broad vocal range and Teresa Carpio's explosive soulful voice. It is a must-have masterpiece among classic Hong Kong English cover vinyl records.
Classic Track Sound Quality Analysis & Vinyl Audition Highlights
As a highly acclaimed vocal test vinyl record, this album exhibits superior performance across various frequency ranges. Here are the sound quality highlights that audiophiles particularly pay attention to when playing this vinyl:
| Classic Track | Musical Style & Original Artist Background | Vinyl Audition Highlights (Hi-Fi Analysis) |
| A2 Feelings | Classic Ballad / Morris Albert | Excellent mid-range warmth and vocal imaging. The warm vinyl surface noise blends perfectly with Teresa Carpio's delicate vibrato, conveying emotion with great impact. |
| A6 Danny's Song | Folk Pop / Loggins and Messina | Tests the layering of two-part harmonies. On a quality vinyl system, the positions of both singers and the spatial envelopment of the harmonies are clearly distinguishable. |
| B2 Shame,Shame,Shame | Disco / Shirley & Company | Tests turntable dynamic range and bass elasticity. The iconic 70s bass rhythm, when read from the vinyl groove, delivers a tangible impact that digital music can hardly match. |
| B4 Never Can Say Goodbye | Soul / The Jackson 5 | High-frequency extension and dynamic performance. When orchestral accompaniment intertwines with soaring vocals,a good vinyl version will not exhibit harsh inner-groove distortion, and the tonality is rich and smooth. |
