Terence Choi Kwok-kuen's "Warm Current in the Wind": A Precious Mark of 80s Cantonese Pop Music
For seasoned vinyl enthusiasts and collectors of Cantonese pop music,Terence Choi Kwok-kuen's musical works have always held an irreplaceable position. As one of the few all-round singer-songwriters in 1980s Hong Kong with talents in composing, lyric writing, and singing, his album "Warm Current in the Wind" not only showcased his gentle and delicate unique vocal style but also included many popular golden oldies of that era.
Among them,"No More Dressing Up Your Dream" is an absolute classic, highly revered in the Chinese music scene. The vinyl record version, with its unique warm and enveloping analog audio, remains a must-have for many Hi-Fi audiophiles to test vocal performance. The album's title track,"Warm Current in the Wind" and the duet with Rowena Cortes, "Every Love Poem",also perfectly captured the romantic atmosphere of the golden age of Hong Kong pop music on vinyl in the 1980s. If you still have a well-preserved first-pressing vinyl record of this Terence Choi album at home,it represents a generation's youthful memories and possesses high value for physical music collection and market resale.
