Full item description
For many veteran music fans and audiophiles, the value of the PolyGram 88 Ultimate Sound Series is self-evident. As a professional audiophile CD Buyback store,we often encounter customers inquiring about the market price of this album. Below are the core reasons why this edition is highly sought after in the out-of-print Cantonese CD buyback market:
| Evaluation Item | Professional Explanation | Collection & buyback Market Popularity |
| Sound Processing Technology (Denon Master) | Remastered using Denon's unique Mastersonic digital system, featuring a wide soundstage and extremely precise vocal positioning, perfectly restoring Sam Hui's classic voice. | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (Extremely High: Beloved by Hi-Fi enthusiasts) |
| First Pressing Origin | Early Denon pressings or Japanese pressings (e.g.,with etchings like 1A1,1M to) have the best material and pressing technology, offering extremely high physical stability. | 🔥🔥🔥🔥 (Very High: First pressings command a significant premium) |
| Representativeness of Song Selection | Includes legendary Cantonese pop hits like "Wanderer's Heart" and "Impression," a microcosm of Hong Kong's pop music history. | 🔥🔥🔥 (High: A must-have classic album) |
| Out-of-Print Rarity | This series has long been out of production, and perfect condition copies (no scratches,no mold) are becoming increasingly rare on the market, leading to a rising demand for top cash prices of Sam Hui CDs year by year. | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 (Extremely High: Hard to find) |
💰 Second-hand CD Valuation Guide: Four Key Factors Affecting the buyback Price of Old Records
Many customers want to know how much their collection is worth. 9Box Music is committed to providing transparent and fair second-hand CD valuation services. When we perform high-cash buyback of audio Hi-Fi and CDs,we primarily evaluate based on the following professional standards:
| Factors Affecting buyback Price | Specific Evaluation Criteria | Impact on Valuation |
| CD Condition | Whether the disc surface has obvious scratches, translucent spots, edge oxidation (commonly known as "silver rot"),or mold. | 40% - 50% of total valuation |
| Completeness of Packaging | Original CD case (whether it has special embossing or stickers),whether the lyric booklet is flat and not yellowed, and if there are any missing pages or water stains. | 20% - 30% of total valuation |
| Edition/Matrix | First pressings, early matrix numbers (e.g.,T113,silver ring editions, plastic ring editions),are usually several times more valuable than later reissues or remasters. | 20% of total valuation |
| Obi & Extras | If the original obi (side strip) from the time of release or accompanying posters/flyers are preserved,it is considered a "complete set." | 10% of total valuation (significant bonus) |

💡 Expert Tip: How to Properly Preserve Your Out-of-Print Cantonese CDs to Maintain Maximum Value.
If you don't plan to sell them yet,we're happy to share professional preservation tips to ensure your out-of-print Cantonese CDs can still fetch a good price in the future:
- Control temperature and humidity: Hong Kong's climate is humid,so it's recommended to store CDs in a dehumidifying cabinet, maintaining relative humidity between 45%-55% to prevent mold in lyric booklets and disc oxidation.
- Correct handling: When handling CDs,hold the central hole with your index finger and support the disc's edge with your thumb, absolutely avoiding direct contact with the playing surface to prevent fingerprints or grease.
- Store vertically: Records should be stored vertically like books, avoiding long-term flat stacking, which can lead to cracked CD cases or disc deformation.
- Keep out of direct sunlight: UV rays can cause severe fading of covers and lyric booklets, and accelerate the aging of the disc's plastic material.
