💿 Key Factors Affecting the buyback Price of Used CDs and Vinyl Records

The second-hand market value of records is influenced by various factors. Understanding these standards can help you get a better quote during the old CD Buyback process:

Evaluation Item	High-Value Features (High Buyback Standard)	Value Depreciation Factors (Lower Buyback Price)	Professional Advice
Record Version (Pressing)	First-pressing CD,West German pressing,Japanese pressing (e.g.,Sanyo,Toshiba),24K gold disc,SACD,first-pressing vinyl	Modern regular reissues, budget import versions,pirated/copied discs	Early special pressing plant versions have excellent sound quality and are highly sought after by audiophiles; please prioritize these.
Disc Condition	No scratches, shiny like new,no reading errors,no mildew spots	Deep scratches (affecting playback),severe light leakage, edge oxidation (discoloration/silver flaking)	Records should be stored in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and humidity.
Packaging and Accessories (Completeness)	Original plastic case undamaged, complete lyrics booklet without creases, with original OBI strip	Missing/damaged/water-stained lyrics booklet,no OBI strip, damaged original outer box (Boxset)	The OBI strip is crucial for the value of rare Japanese or Hong Kong CDs; records with complete OBI strips can double their buyback price.
Market Scarcity (Rarity)	Out of print for many years, limited edition numbered versions, sealed items	Common general release albums with high market circulation	Sam Hui's early PolyGram/Kang Yi Cheng Yin period out-of-print CDs have extremely high collection value.
