Professional Appraisal: What Factors Determine Your Record's Value.
When 9Box Music conducts Jacky Cheung vinyl record buyback s,we perform professional evaluations across multiple dimensions to ensure customers receive the fairest purchase price:
1. First Pressing Identification: Determining if it's a 1986 first pressing. First pressings typically offer superior sonic transparency and depth compared to later reissues, thus commanding a higher market value. We meticulously verify this using the matrix number in the record's runout groove.
2. Disc Condition:
- Mint/NM (Near Mint): Disc surface is shiny like new, with no noticeable scratches, and plays without surface noise.
- VG+ (Very Good Plus): Has very minor scuffs that do not affect the listening experience.
- G (Good): Has numerous scratches or background noise, and its value will be adjusted accordingly.
3. Cover & Inserts Integrity: The cover design of "Amour / Distant Her" is highly iconic. If the cover edges are free from wear, moisture stains,or yellowing, and it retains the original lyric booklet or poster, its collector's value will significantly increase.
4. Market Scarcity: Although its initial circulation was substantial,well-preserved early PolyGram pressings are becoming increasingly rare in the second-hand market. As experts in buying second-hand records in Hong Kong,we understand the impact of scarcity on pricing.
