Why Does This "Purple Vinyl" Record Have Such High Resale Value.
For vinyl collectors, the value of Jenny Tseng's "86 Digital New Songs Selection" lies in several key factors:
- Rare Special Color Pressing: In the 1980s,the production technology for color vinyl was more complex and costly, usually limited to initial limited editions. This purple vinyl record presents a charming translucent appearance under light, offering a dual visual and auditory enjoyment. Its existence is far rarer than that of ordinary black vinyl.
- Masterful Cello and Orchestral Arrangements: The album includes several works by masters such as Joseph Koo,Lam Man Yee,and Tony Lo,featuring intricate arrangements. When played on a high-quality vinyl system,it reveals more details and analog sound than a CD.
- Memories of a Great Era in Film and Television: It includes highly historically significant film and television theme songs like "Pearl of the Orient." This is not just a record but also a microcosm of Hong Kong's golden age.
Professional Appraisal Guide: How to Evaluate the Value of Your Jenny Tseng Vinyl.
If you own this record and intend to sell it,here are the key factors determining its resale price:
- Record Condition (Grading): Are there noticeable fingerprints, scratches,or mold spots on the disc. Is there any skipping.
- Sleeve Integrity: Are the corners of the sleeve yellowed, damaged,or does it have any writing or graffiti.
- Complete Accessories: Does it retain the original lyric sheet and, most importantly, the OBI strip. Records with complete accessories often fetch a much higher resale price.
- First Pressing Identification: Is the alphanumeric code on the center label indicative of a first pressing. This is crucial for professional collectors.
