Full item description
Released in 1995,"Beloved" was Leslie Cheung's (Gor Gor) first solo album after his return to the music scene, making it exceptionally significant. This album compiles theme songs and incidental music from many classic films he starred in over the previous years, including "Farewell My Concubine," "The Phantom Lover," "He's a Woman,She's a Man," and "Days of Being Wild." Its excellent production quality and Gor Gor's impeccable performance not only led to astonishing sales records back then but also continue to make it a rare and invaluable collector's item for seasoned audiophiles and vintage record collectors today.
In today's second-hand physical record market,"Beloved" maintains strong demand and value due to its high musical artistic value and historical significance.
"Beloved" Physical Record Versions and Collection Value Guide
Pressing versions from different years and materials show significant differences in audio performance and second-hand market prices. Below is a compilation of common versions' collection characteristics for fans and sellers:
| Album Version | Release Year | Collection Characteristics and Rarity Analysis | Second-hand Market Demand |
| First Edition CD (Korea/Japan Pressing) | 1995 | Early pressings without IFPI codes or specific matrix codes, preserving the most original master tape sound. Highly sought after by collectors pursuing original audio quality. | 🔥🔥🔥 High |
| Original First Edition Vinyl Record (LP) | 1995 | Analog tracks perfectly present Gor Gor's warm and rich vocals. As vinyl was not a mainstream medium at the time, very few were released. A well-preserved first edition vinyl is now extremely rare. | 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Extremely High |
| Original Cassette Tape | 1995 | Embodies a strong nostalgic sentiment of the 80s/90s. If the tape is free from mold, moisture, and the outer case and lyric sheet are well-preserved,it holds significant historical value. | 🔥🔥🔥 Medium-High |
| High-Resolution Reissue (SACD / K2HD) | After 2000 | Remastered version for Hi-Fi enthusiasts,offering a wider soundstage. Although released later,out-of-print batches still maintain stable second-hand value. | 🔥🔥🔥 High |
9Box Music Professional Assessment: What Affects the Resale Price of Out-of-Print Records.
We are well aware of the market prices for these records. To ensure fair pricing, our evaluation standards primarily refer to the following professional dimensions:
- Condition of the playing surface: Are there noticeable scratches, scuffs,or has the CD/vinyl record been machine polished. "Mint condition" items with no marks receive the highest valuation.
- Completeness of packaging and accessories: Early physical albums featured elaborate packaging designs. If the original obi strip, complete and undamaged lyric booklet, photo album, and promotional posters included with the album can be preserved, the overall collection value will be significantly increased.
- Condition of the outer box: Is the plastic case or cardboard outer packaging severely yellowed,cracked,water-stained,or does it have a noticeable storage odor.
- Edition and first pressing identification: Our professional appraisal team will determine if it is the most valuable first pressing based on the pressing plant codes and font arrangement on the inner ring of the record.
