Full item description
Released in 1986,"Love" (Mandarin album, with some regions also releasing related Cantonese versions or including cross-language tracks) is a highly representative work in Leslie Cheung's musical career. The album's "For Your Heart Only" (theme song of the film "A Better Tomorrow") is an enduring classic in the Chinese pop music scene, and it carries the collective memories of countless 1980s Hong Kong films and popular culture.
With the recent rise of retro trends and the revival of analog audio, demand in the Leslie Cheung vinyl record buyback market has continued to climb. Many experienced audiophiles and vinyl collectors are looking for well-preserved original pressings of this record. Whether you hold old records cherished from years past or musical assets inherited from elders, the market for these out-of-print Cantonese/Mandarin classic vinyl records for top cash prices is currently at an all-time high.
"Love" Vinyl Records: Common Editions and buyback Market Identification
In the second-hand vinyl record trading market, different pressing editions and regions of release directly affect a record's final valuation. Below is a guide for identifying editions of Leslie Cheung's "Love" and other classic vinyl records from the same period, along with their buyback market popularity:
| Edition Type | Release Year | Identification Features & Accessory Requirements | buyback Market Popularity / Value Assessment |
| First Pressing | 1986 | Originally issued by Capital Artists. Check the matrix number in the runout groove. If the original lyric sheet and promotional poster are fully preserved, the collection value will greatly increase. | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Extremely high, most sought after in the market,Top Cash Prices buyback) |
| Radio Promo / Promotional Disc | 1986 | The record label (center) is usually white or printed with "Promotional Use" or "Not for Sale." Due to limited distribution for radio DJs at the time, these are extremely rare. | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (Extremely rare, collector's premium buyback) |
| Overseas Edition (e.g.,Japanese/Taiwanese) | 1986-87 | Pay special attention to whether the cover has a complete "obi strip." Japanese pressings are often favored by Hi-Fi enthusiasts for their extremely low surface noise and wide dynamic range. | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (High, completeness of obi strip determines final price) |
| Later Reissue | Recent years | The back of the cover usually has a modern barcode, often 180-gram heavy vinyl, colored vinyl,or picture disc. While not as historically significant as the original, they still hold market value. | ⭐⭐⭐ (Medium, bought back based on current second-hand market depreciation rate) |
