Sell We are Sally Yeh's favorite vinyl,"My Family's White Version (VERSION 2)

For seasoned vinyl record collectors and Hong Kong pop music enthusiasts,Sally Yeh's "Zui Ai Shi Wo Jia" (My Dearest Home) is a classic golden oldie that encapsulates the warm memories of the 1980s. Its White Label Promo release is an even more coveted treasure in the second-hand vinyl market. Particularly, the special "VERSION 2" marked edition holds significant research and collection value due to its rarity and sound quality.

Why is the "White Label (VERSION 2)" vinyl record so precious.

During the golden age of the record industry,"white label records" were typically promotional discs specially pressed and distributed by record companies to radio DJs,media,or music critics for auditioning before the official release.

• Early Pressing Advantage from Master Stamper: White label records are often among the earliest batches pressed from the master stamper. This means minimal wear on the grooves, with the sharpest groove edges, preserving the most original and rich high- and low-frequency dynamics and details. Aurally,Sally Yeh's highly penetrating yet gentle vocal lines sound morethree-dimensional and realistic.
• Historical Significance of VERSION 2: The release of a "VERSION 2" white label disc for the same song usually implies subtle adjustments in arrangement, differences in mixing (e.g.,a Radio Edit optimized for radio play),or re-mastering. Such non-commercial,special audio tracks are important documents for studying the evolution of Cantonese song production in the 1980s.
• Extremely Low Survival Rate: Promotional discs themselves were printed in very limited quantities (usually only a few hundred copies). Coupled with their age,and having gone through radio station rotations and private resales,a "Zui Ai Shi Wo Jia" VERSION 2 white label vinyl in good condition that has survived to this day has become a scarce resource among rare Chinese vinyl records.

"Zui Ai Shi Wo Jia" in Analog Vinyl Sound

Unlike digitally remastered CD versions, the unique analog signal of vinyl records maximizes the artistic conception of Cheng Hua-chuan's composition and Poon Wai-yuen's lyrics. Zhong Ding-yi's arrangement, when reproduced on a vinyl system, offers more natural instrument separation in the background and vocal imaging. The unique "warmth" of the spinning record perfectly matches the core emotion of the song,"Warm up,just go home / And enjoy the love in your heart again," a yearning for belonging and family warmth. It is an excellent test record for Hi-Fi enthusiasts to evaluate vocal performance.

Warm up,just go home
To enjoy the love in your heart again

Warm up,brush off the hardships
Even if the sky is dim,it's warm at home

Every time you're tired, distressed at heart

Every night,warmth encourages and advises
Even after cold winds and rains, you remain unharmed

Warm up,please go home now
To find the love in your heart again

Warm up,emotions drift far away
Let that sincere smile warm your body and soul again
