Version determines recycling/collection value. First, there is the first edition, also known as the first-edition. First-edition LPs are usually made from open reel master tapes, which are directly recorded into vinyl master tapes and then mass-produced by lamination. They have the best sound quality.
There is usually only one master disc, and the number of pressed discs is limited. They are generally marked with DMM (DIRECT METAL MASTERING). The first edition is generally considered to be the most valuable for collectors. Some rare and discontinued discs can reach the level of antiques and are very expensive.
