Vinyl

The 1980s marked a golden age for the Hong Kong pop music scene. Major record labels frequently released Remix (remixed) EPs or compilation albums for their superstars to cater to the Disco dance craze that was sweeping across Asia at the time. This album,"Super Platinum Remix," not only brought together the most iconic and legendary singers of the era,but its "transparent golden-brown" special material was also a major highlight in vinyl pressing craftsmanship of that period.

Compared to traditional black standard vinyl, these rare transparent colored vinyl records display a unique amber hue under light. This not only gives the record high visual appeal, but due to higher production costs and limited pressing quantities back then, their circulation in today's second-hand vinyl market is relatively scarce, making them treasured items for many seasoned music enthusiasts and physical vinyl collectors.

Artist / TrackRemix Features and Historical SignificanceCollection Appraisal Focus

Sally Yeh

"Cha Cha Cha"

A cover of a classic Italian dance track, the remix significantly increased the proportion of electronic percussion, resulting in a very strong rhythmic feel. It was a must-play hit in Hong Kong dance clubs at the time.Due to the heavy bass of dance music, special attention should be paid to checking for groove wear on this track, which could be caused by previous owners playing it with excessive tracking force.

George Lam

"Stallone Lambo"

The wild arrangement perfectly showcases Ah Lam's unique vocal power. The remix version offers better soundstage openness and vocal separation. The remix has a very wide dynamic range, testing the transparency of high frequencies. A well-preserved vinyl can reproduce an incredibly impactful live sound.

Danny Chan

"Idol"

A rare upbeat electronic dance style from Danny. The remix version removed some of the original melancholic atmosphere, adding a strong sense of contemporary dynamism. The resale price of rare Danny Chan vinyl records has remained consistently high in recent years. This track,as a key song on side A or B,is central to determining the value of the entire record.

Professional Vinyl Condition and Storage Advice

To help music fans and sellers better understand the value of their "Super Platinum Remix" transparent golden-brown vinyl record, professional appraisal usually employs internationally recognized grading standards (such as the Goldmine Grading Standard). The condition of the sleeve corners (whether there's moisture damage, yellowing,or creases) and the playback quality of the colored vinyl itself (whether there's excessive crackling or skipping) will directly affect the final quoted price.

When storing this type of transparent colored vinyl,it is recommended to use anti-static inner sleeves instead of the original paper inner sleeves, and to store them upright in a cool, dry place to prevent warping due to high temperatures. This ensures that these valuable Warner Super Platinum Remix first-pressing records can be preserved for a long time and maintain their optimal market value.
