Key Factors Determining Resale Value

If you plan to transfer your Teresa Teng CD or vinyl records, the following details will directly impact the final appraised value:

1. Condition Completeness (Grading): * Disc Surface: Are there noticeable scratches (Hairlines) or pinholes. Are there any "disc rot" or mold signs.

Lyrics Booklet/Obi Strip: Is the lyrics booklet damp, yellowed,or damaged. Is the original obi strip fully preserved. For Japanese or limited editions, the presence of the obi often determines more than half of the value.

2. Version Year: * Early pressings from the PolyGram era are usually more valuable than later Universal Music reissues. Especially early West German or Japanese first pressings, due to their molds and pressing techniques, offer superior recording dynamics.

3. Storage Condition: * Long-term storage in humid environments can lead to oxidation of the silver ring (commonly known as "silver rot"),which significantly reduces the collectible value of the record. Professional collectors place extreme importance on the pristine condition of the disc surface.
