Why Your "BEST & BEST" Album is Worth a Higher Resale Value.
When it comes to second-hand CD Buyback or vinyl record buying,we don't just look at the album title, but also focus on the completeness of details. Here are the four key factors that determine the resale quote:
- First Edition and Matrix Code: For CDs,the pressing code in the inner ring of the disc determines if it's a "first pressing." Early Japanese pressings (e.g.,Sanyo,Denon) of "BEST & BEST" are often several times more expensive than later reissues.
- Completeness of Accessories: Original lyric booklet,OBI (side strip),reply card, and even old record store stickers. For collectors, missing an accessory can reduce the value by 30%-50%.
- Condition of Disc Surface and Cover: We use professional lighting to check the disc surface for "hairline scratches." If the cover is free of moisture damage, foxing (yellow spots),and has clear printing,it falls into the "Mint" or "Near Mint" grade, fetching the best resale price.
- Number of Copies Extant: Some specific year releases of "BEST & BEST" compilations are extremely rare due to limited print runs, commanding very high premiums in the market.
